As Bangladesh moves rapidly towards a digital revolution in step with the modern world, the risk of cybercrime is also increasing. Young cybersecurity specialist Rakib Khan has been working to combat these growing digital threats.

Through his talent, skills and hard work, he has established a positive position for himself in the cybersecurity sector. He has long been working on online security, data protection and cyber threat investigation. His experience and technical expertise in protecting individuals and various organisations from the misuse of technology have already earned appreciation in technology circles.

In particular, his role in preventing social media account hacking, conducting website security audits and recovering hacked accounts is said to be noteworthy.

Speaking about his work in cybersecurity, Rakib Khan said, “I learned about cybersecurity without any formal degree or training. My interest in cybersecurity was so strong that, through my own willpower and discipline, I studied and practised for 5–8 hours every day. I began with the basics—networking, Linux and programming (Python and Bash)—and then gradually moved on to web application security, penetration testing and threat hunting. I used many free and paid platforms and completed a large number of hands-on labs. From a very young age, I had a strong desire to explore and learn what lies within social media. The knowledge I have today was gained not only by reading books but also through practical application.”

He further said, “In this age of information technology, our personal information and privacy are at the greatest risk. I want every citizen to be able to use technology without fear. My main goal is to build a safe digital Bangladesh.”

It has been learned that, alongside providing technical services, he has also been working to raise cyber awareness among young people. He regularly provides advice on staying safe from phishing attacks, online fraud (scams) and cyber harassment. Through his awareness activities, many people are becoming aware of the risks of cybercrime and are able to protect themselves.

According to technology-related professionals in the Faridpur and Rajbari regions, skilled young people like Rakib Khan will play an important role in further strengthening the country’s cybersecurity system in the future. They expect that, by working on a larger scale at both national and international levels, he will help enrich Bangladesh’s cybersecurity sector.
