Apple’s next-generation Pro iPhones are beginning to take shape months ahead of their expected launch, with early reports pointing to a familiar pricing strategy alongside a series of hardware upgrades aimed at the company’s premium smartphone segment.

According to market analyst Jeff Pu, Apple is expected to continue what he described as an “aggressive pricing” approach for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. In practical terms, that could mean the company either holds prices near current levels or introduces only modest increases despite rising component costs.
The discussion around pricing comes at a time when manufacturers across the electronics industry are facing pressure from higher costs tied to memory and storage components, particularly DRAM and NAND flash. Several brands have already adjusted prices across product categories in recent months to protect margins.
Apple’s current flagship pricing in India provides some indication of where the next models could land if the company keeps changes limited. The iPhone 17 Pro debuted in September 2025 at Rs. 1,34,900 for the 256GB variant, while the 512GB and 1TB versions were priced at Rs. 1,54,900 and Rs. 1,74,900. The iPhone 17 Pro Max started at Rs. 1,49,900 for 256GB storage, with higher-end variants reaching Rs. 2,29,900 for the 2TB model.
On the design front, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that Apple is testing a new deep red finish for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The colour option is expected to remain exclusive to the Pro models. Reports also suggest Apple may continue offering the Cosmic Orange variant introduced previously, adding the new red finish rather than replacing existing options.
Display sizes are expected to remain unchanged between generations. The iPhone 18 Pro is tipped to feature a 6.3-inch OLED panel, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could retain the 6.9-inch display first seen on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Both devices are expected to support 120Hz refresh rates, with reports indicating peak brightness could reach as high as 3,000 nits. A slightly smaller Dynamic Island cutout is also being discussed as part of the design refinement.
Camera hardware appears set for another substantial update. Reports indicate that all iPhone 18 models may include a 24-megapixel front-facing camera. For the Pro models, Jeff Pu expects Apple to introduce a triple 48-megapixel rear camera setup consisting of a primary sensor with variable aperture support, a periscope telephoto lens, and an ultrawide camera.
The broader iPhone 18 lineup may also see changes beyond the flagship models. Reports suggest the standard iPhone 18 could arrive later than usual, potentially shifting to a spring 2027 release window. At the same time, Apple is also said to be considering a lower-cost model, possibly branded as the iPhone 18e, though details around that device remain limited for now.

For Apple, the coming launch cycle appears focused on balancing familiar pricing with hardware improvements that continue pushing its Pro lineup further into the premium category, even as component costs remain under pressure across the industry.
