BGMI 4.5 makes match time part of a new X-Suit upgrade path

By nadimSeptember 1, 2026Updated:September 1, 20262 Mins Read

BGMI’s 4.5 season is giving players a different way to progress cosmetic items. Instead of tying every upgrade step to a purchase, the Druvaen X-Suit Collection lets players earn some upgrade materials by spending time in matches. The change is why bgmi is drawing renewed gaming interest, but it is also a useful test of how a large mobile title can mix paid items with play-based rewards.

Moneycontrol reported on July 31 that Krafton India introduced three seven-star X-Suits: Verdant Druvaen, Pyre Druvaen and Frost Druvaen. The collection is scheduled to run from August 1 through September 30, 2026. Players who unlock an X-Suit are automatically enrolled in the new progression path, where match activity can earn materials used to develop the suit.

The materials in this particular path cannot be purchased, traded or earned elsewhere, according to the report. A player who unlocks one suit receives that suit in the path. Someone who unlocks two or all three can choose one to develop with the new system. The other suits still use BGMI’s existing upgrade mechanics, so the new route does not replace the older one.

The update also adds the Naturespirit Growth ACE32, a level-seven weapon skin linked to the Druvaen theme. The three suits share a visual direction but use different elemental themes. That gives players a collection goal while keeping the progression system attached to normal matches rather than only to a menu that asks for currency.

This is a different angle from Krafton India’s separate BGMI Lite announcement. Gadgets360 reported on August 17 that the lighter version is planned for India by the end of 2026, while gameplay features and device requirements were still undisclosed. That future release is aimed at widening access. The 4.5 event, by contrast, changes how existing players can work toward a high-level cosmetic item.

Players should check the in-game event panel for the exact tasks, dates and eligibility before spending money. Event rules can change, and the end date does not guarantee every reward will remain available afterward. Krafton’s wider BGMI page describes the game as a mobile battle royale with more than 260 million accumulated downloads in India, while the new collection shows the company testing a more activity-based reward loop inside that audience. The result may be worth watching beyond this season because it changes the value of simply playing a match.
