Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a fatal multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, on Friday, Aug. 21. The band and its touring crew were reported safe, but authorities confirmed one person died in the collision ahead of the bus.

Louder reported that the accident happened at about 2 a.m. as Buckcherry travelled through the county. The band’s statement said all members and road crew were safe and unharmed, while expressing condolences to the family of the person who died.
South Carolina Highway Patrol told the publication that the person who was killed had exited a vehicle after an earlier crash and was then struck by another car. The tour bus was involved in the chain of vehicles that collided afterward, according to the report.
ThePRP also reported that the group was not physically harmed in the incident. Buckcherry said its scheduled performance at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale was expected to go ahead on Saturday, subject to the tour’s continuing arrangements.
The incident is therefore a fatal highway crash involving the band’s travel route, not a report of deaths or injuries among Buckcherry members. The available coverage identifies the location, date and official safety statement but does not provide additional details about the person who died.
