DeMar DeRozan has agreed to join the Denver Nuggets on a one-year deal worth the veteran minimum, according to an Associated Press report citing a person familiar with the agreement. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not yet been officially announced at the time of the report.

The reported agreement would place DeRozan in Denver for his 18th NBA season. It would also make the Nuggets the fifth team of his career after previous stops with Toronto, San Antonio, Chicago and Sacramento.
The AP report put the value of the one-year contract at about $3.9 million. The veteran-minimum figure is the amount reported for the agreement, not a broader projection of future earnings or team spending.
DeRozan’s arrival would give Denver another experienced scoring option as the team prepares for the coming season. The agreement, however, still needs the formal steps required for an NBA transaction, and the initial report did not present it as a completed official announcement.
French sports outlet L’Équipe also reported that the unrestricted free agent was moving to Denver after his departure from Sacramento. Its account matched the central point of the AP report while describing the move as a new chapter for the veteran forward.
The confirmed reporting available so far is limited to the one-year agreement, the reported veteran-minimum value and the expected Denver destination. The next formal team or league announcement will establish when the deal is completed and how DeRozan is listed on the Nuggets roster.
