Google announced the Gemini Home Speaker, an AI-powered smart speaker integrating Google’s latest Gemini model directly into home audio systems. The device launches on June 25 at $99.99, positioning Google competitively against Amazon Echo and Apple HomePod mini.

The speaker delivers 360-degree audio with spatial processing, allowing listeners to enjoy music from any location in a room. The microphone array enables long-range voice activation, understanding natural language commands from across large spaces without acoustic interference.
Gemini integration lets users ask complex multi-step questions and have the speaker synthesize answers from web search, local smart home device status, and Google services like Gmail and Calendar. The speaker can control connected devices, play entertainment, and handle smart home automation workflows.
Google positioned the Gemini Home Speaker as an upgrade to existing Google Home devices, emphasizing the advanced language model at its core. Early testing found the speaker understood context better and provided more helpful responses than previous generations.
Availability began with pre-orders through the Google Store, with broader retail availability through Best Buy and other electronics retailers following the June 25 launch. Google targeted holiday season sales with aggressive marketing emphasizing smart home automation benefits.
