Google has officially scheduled its Made by Google 2026 event for Wednesday, August 12 in New York City. The company will unveil the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

The timing puts Google a week earlier than last year, signaling urgency to show off new AI capabilities built into the next generation of Pixel phones. The event also comes just weeks after Samsung’s July 22 Unpacked in London.
Tensor G6: The Real Star
The story isn’t the phone design. It’s the chip. Pixel 11 will ship with the Tensor G6, built on TSMC’s 2nm process. The efficiency jump matters because it means longer battery life and cooler thermal performance—two things Pixel users complain about.
Google is leaning into AI heavily with Tensor G6. The chip includes dedicated neural processing units optimized for on-device AI tasks. Expect Google to show off smarter photo editing, better voice recognition, and more intelligent search features powered by its own silicon.
Foldable Pixel Comeback
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is returning after last year’s Fold didn’t make noise in the foldable market. Google is trying again with refinements to the hinge, inner display quality, and overall durability. It won’t compete with Samsung’s market share, but it gives Google a presence in the foldable segment.
Pre-orders are expected to start immediately after the event, with phones shipping in late August.
Google is positioning Pixel 11 as the phone for people who want AI built in from day one. Not ChatGPT wrapped in a phone, but AI that understands how you use your device and gets smarter over time.
