ZOOMBANGLA DESK: The government today extended the nationwide holidays for 11 more days to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) as the virus continues to claim lives and infect more people everyday in the country as elsewhere.
“The days from May 7 to 14 have been announced as general holidays while public holiday on May 6, on the occasion of the Buddha Purnima, and weekend on May 8, 9, 15 and 16 will be added to the holidays,” said a Public Administration Ministry circular issued here today.
This is the fifth time the government extended the vacation after it first announced closure of all the public and private offices from March 26 to April 4.
