Hohem Eyepic turns a pocket gimbal into a detachable 4K camera

Hohem has previewed the Eyepic at IFA 2026, introducing a camera that can work as a pocket gimbal unit or as a small wearable camera. The company presented the device in Berlin on September 3, while the show remains open through September 8.

The key idea is a detachable camera module. When it is attached to the handle, the system uses three-axis stabilization for handheld shooting. When it is removed, the camera can be carried or worn with accessories shown by Hohem. That gives creators two ways to record without carrying a separate gimbal and action camera.

Hohem says the Eyepic records native 4K vertical video at up to 60 frames per second. That detail matters for short-form video, because the camera does not need to crop a horizontal recording to fit a phone-first feed. The company also showed a 2.51-inch rotating touchscreen that gives users a view of the camera interface while filming.

The Eyepic is Hohem’s first camera product. Its IFA appearance is a preview rather than a retail launch. Hohem says final specifications, configurations, pricing and on-sale timing will be confirmed later. The company currently expects the camera to reach the market in the first quarter of 2027.

The distinction is useful because a compact body does not automatically make a camera suitable for every production job.

A creator could also keep the handle as the control point while placing the camera in a different position. Those are use cases demonstrated or described by the company, not independent performance results.

Hohem has not announced a final price, battery rating or complete image-sensor specification in the material reviewed for this report. Those missing details will help determine whether the product can compete with established pocket cameras when it ships.

For now, the Eyepic is best understood as an early product preview from IFA. Its detachable design and vertical 4K target make it easy to follow, but buyers should wait for Hohem’s final release information before treating the prototype as a finished retail camera.
