Leak details are sparse. The device will likely feature a built-in large cooling fan for improved thermal performance. That suggests iQOO anticipates sustained high performance demands—gaming, video recording, intensive apps.

What Changed From 15T to 16T

The iQOO 15T launched in May 2026 and succeeded the 15R. The 15T carried a flagship processor and gaming optimizations. The 16T will push cooling and display quality forward. Thermal management matters more than ever as phones get faster and more power-hungry.

A 2K display is unusual for phones. Most flagships stopped at 1440p years ago because 2K drains battery for minimal visual gain on mobile screens. But iQOO may be targeting a specific segment—gamers and power users who value sharpness.

Timing and Availability

The 16T’s launch timeframe is unclear. Rumors suggest it could arrive in May 2027 or earlier. The device may not release in India. The iQOO 15T never landed there. Instead, iQOO introduced the cheaper 15R for the Indian market.

If the 16T releases globally, expect availability in China first, then select Asian markets. India may get a regional variant or a different model instead.
