The early momentum behind *Michael*, the widely discussed biographical film on Michael Jackson, has carried into the new week with a measured but expected slowdown at the Indian box office.

On its fourth day in theatres, the film collected Rs. 2.25 crore net across India. That figure marks a drop from Sundayâs Rs. 5.85 crore, though the decline is broadly in line with weekday patterns for films that open strongly over the weekend. The total domestic net now stands at Rs. 18.75 crore, with the India gross reaching Rs. 22.50 crore.
The filmâs daily progression reflects a front-loaded release. It began with preview earnings of Rs. 1.70 crore, followed by Rs. 3.70 crore on Friday. Collections rose through Saturday at Rs. 5.25 crore before peaking on Sunday. Mondayâs performance, while lower, suggests the film is maintaining a reasonable hold given its genre and international positioning.
Beyond India, the filmâs commercial performance has been far more pronounced. Global earnings have climbed to USD 218.83 million, or approximately Rs. 2,065 crore, placing it among the highest-grossing releases of the year so far. The film had already set a notable benchmark over its opening weekend, debuting with USD 217 million worldwide, the strongest start recorded for a music biopic.
That opening surpassed earlier comparables in the genre and helped position the film ahead of several recent prestige titles in terms of initial reach. With the addition of Mondayâs numbers, it is now approaching the USD 220 million mark globally.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film has drawn mixed critical responses, but audience attention has largely centered on Jaafar Jacksonâs portrayal of his late uncle. Viewers have pointed to his physical resemblance and performance style, particularly in recreating well-known stage movements, as a defining element of the filmâs appeal.

In India, where international biopics typically face a narrower theatrical window, the filmâs weekday stability will likely determine its longer-term run. For now, it continues to show signs of steady, if moderated, audience interest after a strong opening phase.
