The mlgw outage map search is rising after severe storms caused widespread power disruption in the Memphis service area. Memphis Light, Gas and Water directs customers to its official outage map for reported outages and restoration information, while warning that the map reflects the information available to the utility.
The Commercial Appeal reported that more than 101,000 MLGW customers were without power at 8 a.m. after a storm that brought straight-line winds estimated at 80 to 100 miles per hour. The reported count was a time-specific snapshot and could change as crews restored service or new damage was identified.
Local coverage said the outage peaked at roughly 130,000 customers and that restoration was expected to take multiple days. MLGW’s updates indicated that crews were working through the damage and that many customers had been restored, but the remaining outages could be more difficult to repair.
The official MLGW outage map is designed to show reported or known outages and may not immediately display every interruption. Customers who do not see their address on the map should report the outage through MLGW’s official channels rather than assuming that no report is needed.
MLGW lists 901-544-6500 for outage-related contact. People using a generator should keep it outdoors and away from doors, windows and vents, while residents should avoid downed power lines and report them to the utility or emergency services.
Storm restoration estimates can move as crews inspect poles, wires and substations. The latest map, utility alert and local emergency notice should be treated as the current source instead of an old screenshot or a single earlier customer count.
