Special Correspondent: Mobarok Hossain Dewan, joint convener of the BNP’s Khilkhet thana unit, and Abdul Haque Bhuiyan, president of BNP’s Ward No. 48 unit, have donated Tk 10 lakh each, totalling Tk 20 lakh, to Barua Alauddin Dewan High School and College in Khilkhet, Dhaka.

The two donated the money as lifetime donor members of the educational institution. They recently handed over separate cheques of Tk 10 lakh each to the school authorities for its development.

The event was attended by the institution’s headteacher, teachers and employees, as well as BNP leaders from different levels of Ward No. 48.

Speaking on the occasion, Mobarok Hossain Dewan said, “Investment in education is never wasted. Barua Alauddin Dewan High School and College is an important institution for shaping the future of children in our community. Supporting the development of the institution and the welfare of its students, according to our means, is therefore a social responsibility. We will continue our efforts to provide necessary support in the future to improve the educational environment.”

Those present at the event said quality education is one of the key foundations of the overall development of a community. They stressed the need for financially capable members of society to come forward to support educational institutions and contribute to improving their infrastructure and learning environment.

Teachers and local residents welcomed the initiative taken by Mobarok Hossain Dewan and Abdul Haque Bhuiyan to become lifetime donor members of the institution.

The authorities hope that the Tk 20 lakh donation will make a positive contribution to the institution’s ongoing development activities and help create a better learning environment for its students.
