NBA 2K HQ is the new official companion app for players preparing for NBA 2K27. According to 2K support information, the app is scheduled to launch on Aug. 21, five days before NBA 2K27 early access begins on Aug. 26.

The companion app is designed for use away from the main game. The published requirements list iOS 18 or later for Apple devices and Android 11 or later for Android devices. Players will need a compatible phone or tablet and an active connection to use the app’s supported features.
2K has also set an end date for MyNBA2K. The support page says the previous companion app will sunset on Aug. 21, making NBA 2K HQ the replacement companion experience for the new game cycle. Existing players therefore need to look for the new app rather than continue relying on the older application.
The timing places NBA 2K HQ directly in the preparation period for NBA 2K27. Early access is listed for Aug. 26, while the standard NBA 2K27 launch is scheduled for Sept. 4. The app’s arrival gives players a separate place to follow companion functions before the full game release.
Availability can depend on the device, operating-system version and the store region. The official support guidance recommends checking the relevant Apple or Google app store and confirming that the device meets the listed requirements. A store listing or download result alone does not change the game’s published release timetable.
The NBA 2K HQ rollout is therefore tied to the broader NBA 2K27 schedule: the companion app on Aug. 21, early access on Aug. 26 and the full launch on Sept. 4. These dates come from 2K’s published support and newsroom information.
