Nvidia’s latest earnings report has put nvidia stock back at the centre of market attention after the chipmaker reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $96.2 billion. The company said the figure rose 106% from a year earlier and 18% from the previous quarter. The results covered the three months ended July 26, 2026.
Nvidia’s investor-relations release said data-centre revenue reached $89.0 billion, up 117% from the same quarter a year earlier. GAAP net income was $59.688 billion, while diluted earnings per share were $2.46. The company reported a 75.0% GAAP gross margin for the quarter.
The Associated Press reported that the results exceeded Wall Street expectations and linked the performance to continuing demand for high-end artificial-intelligence chips. AP said Nvidia’s adjusted earnings per share came to $2.22, compared with a FactSet consensus estimate of $2.09, while revenue also exceeded the analysts’ average forecast cited in the report.
The company’s forward guidance is another reason investors are examining the release. Nvidia said it expects third-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $108.0 billion, with a possible variation of plus or minus 2%. Its outlook does not assume any data-centre compute revenue from China. The release also projects GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins of about 74.0%, plus or minus 50 basis points.
Nvidia said it returned approximately $26.0 billion to shareholders through share repurchases and cash dividends during the second quarter. Its next quarterly cash dividend is set at $0.25 per share, payable Oct. 1 to shareholders of record on Sept. 10. The company said about $99.0 billion remained under its share-repurchase authorisation at the end of the quarter.
The company also highlighted the Vera Rubin platform, Spectrum-6 switch systems, a new AI-focused CPU and products aimed at local AI, robotics and autonomous vehicles. Those disclosures are part of the corporate release, while the market response to nvidia stock can change after the earnings call and as investors assess the outlook. The earnings figures describe the reported quarter; they are not a forecast of future share performance.
