OPPO will launch the Reno 16 and Reno 16c in India on July 2, with availability through Amazon India and OPPO’s own store from that date.
The company is bringing two phones at once this time. The Reno 16 is the main device, built around a triple 50MP camera system that includes a 3.5x optical zoom lens. The Reno 16c is the more affordable option, with a larger display and a bigger battery. Both carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K waterproofing ratings — a combination that’s unusual at mid-range prices.
OPPO Reno 16 Full Specifications
The Reno 16 features a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,800 nits peak brightness. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, paired with a 6,700mAh battery and 80W fast charging.
The camera setup leads with a 50MP primary, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom — plus a 50MP ultrawide selfie camera. All three rear cameras support 4K 60fps HDR video recording. OPPO has also added a hardware button called the AI Snap Key, which works similarly to OnePlus’ AI Plus Key and lets users save content to a dedicated memory space called MindSpace with a press. The frame is made of aerospace-grade aluminium.
OPPO Reno 16c — Bigger Battery at a Lower Price
The Reno 16c steps down with a 6.57-inch AMOLED display at 120Hz and 1,400 nits peak brightness. It’s expected to run a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset. Where it wins is battery capacity: 7,000mAh with 80W fast charging, compared to the standard Reno 16’s 6,700mAh.
Both phones share the AI Snap Key, the full waterproofing suite, and OPPO’s AI camera processing features. Both also have an aerospace-grade aluminium frame according to OPPO’s confirmed specs.
OPPO Bubble — The Accessory
Launching alongside the phones is the OPPO Bubble, a magnetic clip-on accessory with a 1.73-inch AMOLED display. It connects via Bluetooth up to 10 metres and functions as a wireless camera viewfinder and remote shutter. It supports custom wallpapers, interactive pets, IP54 splash protection, and packs a 550mAh battery. It’s a novel idea for mobile photography — separating the viewfinder from the phone itself.
Expected India pricing, based on leaks, is Rs 59,999 for the Reno 16 and Rs 49,999 for the Reno 16c. That’s a steep jump from the previous generation — Reno 15 launched at Rs 45,999 and Reno 15c at Rs 34,999. OPPO has pointed to rising memory costs as a factor affecting pricing across the industry. Official pricing will be confirmed at the July 2 launch event.
The Reno 16’s camera setup and IP ratings stand out on paper, but the reported price increase puts both phones in a bracket where OnePlus, Vivo, and Motorola are all competing hard.
