The Indian government has approved the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme from the financial year 2026-27 through 2030-31, with a total financial outlay of about Rs 3.15 lakh crore.

The Prime Minister’s Office said the approval keeps direct income support for eligible landholding farmer families in place. The scheme provides Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments through direct benefit transfer, subject to the scheme’s eligibility and exclusion rules.
The PM Kisan portal says the 23rd instalment was released on June 20, 2026. It also says electronic Know Your Customer verification is mandatory for registered farmers and that some suspected exclusion cases may have benefits withheld until physical verification is completed.
Policy review group PRS Legislative Research also recorded the cabinet decision in its July 2026 review. It described PM-KISAN as a direct benefit transfer programme launched in 2019 and reported that the scheme had around 9.5 crore beneficiaries.
The pradhan mantri kisan samman nidhi search is therefore connected to both the five-year continuation decision and status checks for existing beneficiaries. The official portal advises farmers to use its Know Your Status service or the Kisan eMitra chatbot to review eligibility and payment information.
