Xiaomi has introduced a new variant of its mid-range lineup in India, bringing the Redmi Note 15 Special Edition to market after a series of teasers. The device closely mirrors the version already available in China under the Redmi Note 15 5G branding, though there are a few notable adjustments.

At a glance, the handset carries forward the familiar Note series design language, with three finishes offered locally. Among them, the Crimson Reserve option stands out for its faux-leather back, a detail that sets it apart from the more conventional Carbon Black and Frosted White variants.

The phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. Xiaomi is offering configurations with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Storage expansion remains an option, with support for microSD cards up to 1TB.

Camera hardware reflects one of the clearer distinctions between regional versions. The Special Edition carries a 50-megapixel primary sensor, replacing the higher-resolution 108-megapixel unit seen in the global variant of the Redmi Note 15 5G. It is accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while the front houses a 20-megapixel camera.

On the front, the device features a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi claims peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits, along with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, figures that position the display toward the higher end of its segment.

Battery capacity has been set at 5,800mAh, matching the Chinese model. The phone supports 45W fast charging. It runs Android 15 with HyperOS 2 layered on top, continuing Xiaomi’s shift toward its in-house software ecosystem.

Additional features include an under-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and an infrared sensor. The device carries IP55 and IP66 ratings, along with MIL-STD-810H certification, indicating a degree of resistance to environmental stress. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 5G, and dual 4G VoLTE support.

Pricing begins at INR 19,999 for the base 6GB and 128GB configuration. Higher variants with 8GB RAM are priced at INR 21,999 for 128GB storage and INR 22,999 for the 256GB option.

With this release, Xiaomi appears to be maintaining its steady cadence in the competitive mid-range segment, where small specification shifts often define regional offerings more than headline changes.
