Runa Khan has joined the cast of Jolpobon, an independent Bangladeshi film about life and waiting in the haor region, with production under way in Sunamganj. Runa Khan Jolpobon is the direct search phrase for the production update.

The Daily Star reported that filming began on August 15 in the haor areas and is expected to continue through the month. Runa will play a character named Nirala in the film directed by Rajon Talukdar.
Runa told the newspaper that the story centres on people living in the haor region and that she accepted the role because she liked the character. She did not disclose further details about the plot while filming continues.
Ajker Patrika separately reported that the production is taking place in Sunamganj and described Jolpobon as a story involving the lives of people in the wetland area. The film is being made as an independent production rather than as a widely announced commercial franchise.
The project is also the feature-film debut of Rajon Talukdar and several members of the cast and crew, according to The Daily Star. Other principal performers include Sushanta Prithviraj and Samiul Haque, with local theatre performers involved in the production.
Jolpobon’s release date has not been announced in the reports reviewed. Runa also has other films awaiting release or certification, but their schedules remain separate from the current shooting timetable for the new haor-based project.
