Samsung is unveiling its next generation of foldable phones and wearables today at Galaxy Unpacked in London. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. ET, with the company expected to introduce the Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8, and Z Flip 8, along with new Galaxy Watches and its first smart glasses.

The Z Fold 8 represents Samsung’s biggest structural overhaul of the foldable lineup yet. Leaks point to a wider, shorter “passport-style” body with a roughly 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch inner screen. This marks a significant shift from the tall, narrow form factor every Fold has used since 2019.

New Form Factor Strategy

Samsung is splitting the Z Fold lineup into three distinct variants to cater to different user preferences. The Z Fold 8 Ultra sits at the top, offering premium specs and the largest screens. The standard Z Fold 8 provides the core foldable experience, while a potential third variant aims for a different market segment.

The company’s motto for this year—”A New Shape Unfolds”—hints at the dramatic redesign. Instead of iterating on the existing form, Samsung is reimagining what a foldable can be.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 Refinement

The Z Flip 8 is expected to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, running the Exynos 2600 processor. While less dramatic than the Fold changes, the refinements suggest Samsung is fine-tuning its compact clamshell design based on user feedback.

Galaxy Glasses and Wearables

Samsung’s first smart glasses are also on the agenda, alongside two new Galaxy Watches. The glasses mark the company’s push into spatial computing and everyday AR experiences.
