Tecno Camon 50 Series Launches with 144Hz AMOLED Display and 6,150mAh Battery

By Tarek HasanFebruary 22, 20262 Mins Read

Tecno has quietly introduced the tecno camon 50 series in select African markets ahead of its expected debut at Mobile World Congress 2026. The lineup includes the tecno camon 50 and the Camon 50 Pro, two smartphones that share most of their core hardware, with the Pro model offering a notable camera upgrade.

Tecno Camon 50 and Camon 50 Pro Specifications

Both the tecno camon 50 and the Camon 50 Pro are powered by MediaTek’s Helio G200 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the Pro variant comes with 256GB, while the standard tecno camon 50 starts at 128GB.

The two devices pack a 6,150mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.

On the front, both models feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. They also include an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The key design difference lies in the display shape — the Camon 50 Pro uses a curved panel, while the tecno camon 50 features a flat screen.

At the back, both smartphones are equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT700C main sensor, the same camera seen on the Tecno Camon 40 Pro, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. The Camon 50 Pro adds a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), setting it apart from the standard tecno camon 50.

On the software side, both phones run on HiOS 16 and carry an IP68/69/69K rating for dust and water resistance. Tecno has also included a One-Tap AI Key and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

In Kenya, the tecno camon 50 is priced at KES 37,500 (around $290), while the Camon 50 Pro costs KES 44,000 (around $340). Both devices are currently available for pre-order. Tecno has not yet announced 5G variants, but with MWC 2026 approaching, additional models could follow.
