FX’s The Bear launches its fifth and final season tonight on Hulu and FX, with all eight episodes arriving simultaneously at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
The season opens the morning after a pivotal moment: Sydney, Richie, and Natalie “Sugar” discover that Carmy has abandoned the restaurant and quit the food industry entirely. The finale sets up the central conflict that will drive the season.
Jeremy Allen White returns as Carmy, the troubled chef at the center of the series. Alongside him, Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Richie, Abby Elliott portrays Sugar, and Ayo Edebiri continues her role as Sydney, the drive and ambition pushing the restaurant forward.
The final season represents the culmination of storylines built across four seasons of increasingly intense drama. The show has earned critical acclaim for its unflinching portrayal of restaurant culture, mental health struggles, and the cost of ambition.
The series became a cultural phenomenon, with its rapid-fire dialogue, tight editing, and visceral kitchen scenes defining its style. The Bear spawned numerous Emmy nominations and cemented itself as one of television’s most acclaimed dramas.
Creator Christopher Storer has shaped the story toward this conclusion. The decision to end the series allows the creative team to provide definitive answers to the questions that have haunted the characters throughout the show’s run.
A May 2026 special episode called “Gary” released on Hulu, offering a flashback that provided context for the characters. The final season builds on that foundation as the restaurant empire Carmy built faces an uncertain future.
The Bear Season 5 finale arrives as streaming television increasingly turns toward shorter, more conclusive narrative arcs rather than open-ended runs.
