The Toxic movie trailer is being discussed again after the film received adult-only classifications in India and the United Kingdom ahead of its August 26 worldwide theatrical release. The development gives the Yash-led action drama a new promotional talking point beyond the trailer’s first reveal.
The Indian Express reported that the British Board of Film Classification listed Toxic with an 18 rating and described the film as containing strong bloody violence and sex. Its report also said the BBFC assessment gave the highest category scores for violence, sex and injury detail. A British classification applies to the UK release and does not determine how the film will be rated in other countries.
India’s Central Board of Film Certification has separately cleared the movie with an A certificate, according to Cinema Express. That classification restricts theatrical admission in India to adult viewers. The same report said the film received a runtime of about three hours and 14 minutes and that the CBFC required modifications before release.
The certification details add context to the material shown in the trailer, which presents Yash in a dark crime story directed by Geetu Mohandas. The cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. Earlier coverage of the trailer focused on the film’s scale, action imagery and the suggestion that Yash plays a father-and-son double role.
Indian media reports said the CBFC changes were limited rather than a demand to remove complete scenes. The Times of India reported that certain Kannada phrases and their English subtitle equivalents were marked for muting or replacement, while statutory warnings were required around smoking or drug-use scenes. The specific changes should be distinguished from the UK’s separate content classification.
Toxic has already moved through several announced release dates, but the current schedule remains August 26, 2026. The latest certification reports do not provide verified advance-booking totals or a box-office forecast. They do confirm that the film has completed the relevant certification process reported by Indian outlets and that the UK classification gives international audiences a clearer warning about its adult content before opening day.
