CD Projekt has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will launch on Sept. 29, 2026, giving the long-running role-playing game a new release version for current platforms. The Witcher 3 remastered edition will be offered as a free upgrade for existing owners on qualifying systems, according to the company.

The announcement covers PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as a native version for Nintendo Switch 2 and a Battle.net release. CD Projekt said the update will bring enhanced visuals, lighting and ray-tracing support, along with changes to combat, traversal, monster behaviour and the skill tree. New sign effects, a mount and a photo mode are among the listed additions.

Xbox Wire also described the project as a modernised edition rather than a new standalone adventure. CD Projekt separately revealed Songs of the Past, an expansion planned for 2027. The company said existing owners on eligible platforms will receive the expansion at no extra charge, subject to the stated platform conditions. A Battle.net partnership will also include a Geralt-themed Diablo 4 item. The release date is confirmed, but the final performance and upgrade experience may differ by platform.
