A fresh report attributed to Macworld is offering an early look at what may be the color palette for the next generation of premium iPhones, pointing to four finishes under consideration for the upcoming Pro models.

Citing sources described as familiar with Apple Inc.âs supply chain, the publication says the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to arrive in Light Blue, Dark Cherry, Dark Gray, and Silver. Internal references reportedly tie these shades to specific Pantone codes, suggesting development has moved beyond broad concept stages.
Among the four, Dark Cherry appears to carry the most attention. Described as a red wine tone, it is understood to be the standout option for the new lineup, replacing the Cosmic Orange finish associated with the iPhone 17 Pro series. That shift, if accurate, would mark a notable change in how Apple positions its flagship color from one generation to the next.
Light Blue, another new addition, is said to closely resemble the Mist Blue finish seen on the standard iPhone 17. The report indicates a softer, more familiar tone rather than a dramatic departure in color direction.
The darker end of the lineup may also see adjustment. A shade referred to as Dark Gray is described as approaching black, suggesting Apple could be refining its traditional space gray aesthetic rather than introducing an entirely new visual identity.
The fourth option, Silver, is expected to remain unchanged. According to the report, it will match the finish already available on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, continuing a consistent offering for users who prefer a more neutral look.
The report notes that early renders circulating alongside these claims may not fully reflect the final retail versions. Subtle variations in tone and finish are common during development, particularly as manufacturing processes are finalized.
Apple has not commented on the report, and details about the iPhone 18 Pro lineup remain unconfirmed. For now, the information offers a snapshot of what internal planning may look like as the company prepares its next flagship devices.

The color choices, while a smaller part of the overall product, often signal how Apple intends to position each generation in a crowded market, balancing continuity with just enough change to stand out.
