xLean TR1 pairs one-sentence cleaning commands with a convertible floor washer

xLean is demonstrating a software update for its TR1 floor-washing robot at IFA 2026 in Berlin, where the company says users can issue cleaning requests in ordinary language. The live presentation runs through September 8, and the update is called EvoMate OS.

xLean TR1

The product is built around a dual-form design. In its robot form, the TR1 is intended to clean hard floors on a routine schedule. The handheld form is designed for a fresh spill or a small area that needs attention immediately. xLean says the unit can change between the two forms in about one second.

Geeky Gadgets reported that EvoMate OS is the main change being shown at the event. A user can give the robot a sentence describing a task. xLean says the system then identifies the area, chooses a cleaning approach, carries out the job and reports when it is done. Homecrux also described the IFA demonstration as a combination of autonomous floor cleaning and a detachable handheld cleaner.

That sequence is a product claim, not an independent test of an AI agent. The company’s site says the TR1 needs a network connection before its AI-agent functions can be enabled. Actual response times and accuracy can depend on software versions, network conditions, room layout and the type of mess on the floor.

The cleaning hardware is designed for wet and dry spills. xLean lists Dual-Motor DirectSuction with up to 17,000 pascals of suction, two rollers that can turn at up to 400 revolutions per minute and a fresh-water spray system. The company says the rollers scrub in sequence while dirty water is pulled into the recovery system.

Navigation uses several sensors. The product page lists 360-degree LiDAR, which measures distance with laser pulses, an RGB-D camera for depth information and an onboard chip for real-time environmental processing. xLean also describes a dirt sensor that can change speed, suction, roller speed and water flow as floor conditions change.

The dock is part of the ownership story. xLean lists automatic water management, solid-and-liquid separation on certain configurations, 167-degree Fahrenheit hot-water roller washing and 149-degree Fahrenheit hot-air drying. Those figures come from the company’s technical material and laboratory testing. They do not establish how much maintenance a household will need after months of use.

The one-sentence control could make a robot cleaner easier to use when a household has several kinds of mess. It also creates a need for clear feedback. A person should be able to see which area the machine understood, what cleaning mode it selected and whether the request was completed. A voice command cannot replace a check of the floor around cables, toys, pets or fragile objects.

xLean’s early-test page says the TR1 has not yet reached its final market release. The company’s Kickstarter FAQ expects final production units to begin shipping between September and October 2026, while the IFA appearance is a demonstration and pre-release opportunity. Buyers should therefore treat the displayed specifications as the current product plan, not as a substitute for independent testing.

The xLean TR1’s news value is its attempt to combine a robot mop, a handheld floor washer and natural-language control in one appliance. The company has shown the design and its software direction, but final availability, long-term cleaning results and real-world AI performance still need to be checked after production units reach customers.
