Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026, marking what could become one of the company’s more closely watched iPhone launches in recent years. Beyond the hardware changes being discussed around the upcoming devices, attention is also shifting toward who may lead the presentation on stage.

According to the information currently circulating, the launch event could be led by John Ternus, Apple’s new chief executive officer, instead of Tim Cook. If that happens, it would be the first iPhone launch in several years not fronted by Cook, who has long remained the public face of Apple’s major product announcements.
The iPhone 18 Pro series is also expected to arrive ahead of the standard iPhone 18 models. Apple may delay the launch of the regular versions until 2027, a move linked to pressure on margins and broader supply chain concerns affecting the Pro lineup.
Much of the early attention around the iPhone 18 Pro models has focused on the display and front design. Recent renders shared across multiple reports show differing colour finishes, although the larger discussion centres on the layout of the screen itself rather than the colours.
Apple could introduce thinner and more symmetrical bezels on both Pro devices. Reports also suggest the Dynamic Island placement may shift toward the left side of the top display area instead of remaining centrally positioned. If introduced, the changes would represent one of the more noticeable front-facing redesigns for the iPhone lineup in years.
Camera upgrades are also expected to play a central role in the new models. Apple may use a three-layer stacked image sensor supplied by Samsung, with the aim of improving image quality through reduced noise and better dynamic range. The telephoto camera is also tipped to receive a wider aperture, which could help low-light photography performance.
Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to run on Apple’s new A20 Pro chip. The processor is reportedly being built on TSMC’s 2nm process and may use a WMCM packaging method designed to integrate RAM more closely with the processor.
The phones could also debut with Apple’s new C2 modem. Support for mmWave 5G and satellite connectivity is expected to continue with the Pro models.
Pricing, at least for now, is expected to remain close to Apple’s recent Pro-series launches in India. The iPhone 17 Pro launched at Rs 1,34,900 for the 256GB model, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max debuted at Rs 1,49,900. Whether Apple maintains those prices for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup may depend on how global supply chain conditions develop over the coming months.
