ZOOMBANGLA DESK: Chief Justice (CJ) Hasan Foez Siddique paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban this evening.
During the meeting, the Chief Justice briefed the President on various activities of the Supreme Court, especially on the activities f virtual courts in COVID-19 pandemic.
President’s Press Secretary Md. Joynal Abedin told BSS that the Chief Justice also apprised the President of the steps taken to reduce the pending cases.
The President congratulated the newly appointed Chief Justice and said the judiciary was the last shelter house of people to get justice.
He said the judiciary should continue its efforts to ensure that litigants would get justice without any harassment.
Under the leadership of the newly appointed Chief Justice, country’s judiciary would be able to fullfil the expectations of the people through speedy execution of justice, he hoped.
President’s Office Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin and Secretary (Attachment) Md Wahidul Islam Khan were also present on the occasion.
