Junaid Khan’s latest theatrical release *Ek Din* has begun its overseas run with a mixed early response, even as the film draws attention for its casting and lineage. The romantic drama, directed by Sunil Pandey and backed by producers Mansoor Khan, Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, marks Khan’s second big-screen outing after earlier appearances in *Maharaj* and *Loveyapa*.

The film arrives with added curiosity due to Sai Pallavi’s presence, as she steps into Bollywood for the first time. Alongside her and Junaid Khan, the cast includes Kunal Kapoor, Kavin Dave, Aamir Khan and Ram Sampath in supporting roles. The project also carries the weight of being an official remake of the 2016 Thai film *One Day*, a detail that has shaped audience expectations.

Set against the backdrop of a company trip to Japan, the story follows Rohan, played by Junaid Khan, a reserved man quietly in love with his colleague Meera, portrayed by Sai Pallavi. These responses, while limited, indicate that the film’s emotional core may not have translated consistently across audiences, particularly outside India. At the same time, Sai Pallavi’s performance appears to have drawn some appreciation, even among less favourable reviews.
