Enola Holmes 3 debuted atop Netflix‘s movie chart with 20.7 million views in its first week on the platform. The film released July 1 and immediately claimed the number one spot. But the numbers tell a story Netflix doesn’t want told — each installment of this franchise is getting weaker. Enola Holmes 2 drew 64 million views in its first five days. The original Enola Holmes opened to 76 million in its first four weeks. This one is dropping 32 percent from the second film.

Millie Bobby Brown returns as Enola. The film adapts Conan Doyle characters differently than the books — a looser interpretation that plays to Brown’s strengths. She gets agency. She drives plot. But something’s shifting. Audiences aren’t showing up like they used to.

Why Viewership Dropped

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is happening right now. Soccer is pulling eyeballs. Americans are watching Fox, Fox One, Peacock, and Tubi for World Cup matches. That’s a legitimate headwind for any entertainment release. Netflix admits it in their analyst calls. Viewership is being cannibalized by live sports.

Enola Holmes 3 succeeded. Enola Holmes 5 or 6 probably won’t.
