PlayStation has opened preorders for two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI. Sony announced the black and white designs on the PlayStation Blog and set the preorder window for September 10 in the United States and several European markets. The controllers use Vice City as their visual theme. Sony says the white edition reflects the game’s coastal daytime look, while the black edition is built around the neon mood of the city at night. Sony lists a recommended retail price of $84.99 in the United States. The controllers are scheduled to launch on November 19, the same day Rockstar has announced for Grand Theft Auto VI. The black model is sold through PlayStation Direct where that service is available, while the white model is also expected through participating retailers.
The game connection is more than decoration. PlayStation says the DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers will respond to action in GTA VI, adding resistance and vibration effects during play. That feature is built into the standard PS5 version of the game, so the limited controllers do not unlock a separate gameplay mode.
Availability will differ by country, and Sony says exact launch timing can vary by region.
