The iQOO 16 remains unconfirmed by the manufacturer, while reports point to a possible September 2026 arrival after Qualcomm’s next flagship chipset release. The product is drawing attention because of reports about a large battery and a new high-end processor.
ANTARA reported on May 23 that GSM Association IMEI data listed model I2601, which was believed to be the iQOO 16. The report said iQOO had not announced an official launch schedule and described September as the earliest reported timing rather than a confirmed release date.
ANTARA also reported that the phone was expected to reach China, India and other markets. It attributed the reported battery and price information to circulating leaks and said a version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage was predicted to start at 5,000 yuan in China. Those figures remain reports, not announced specifications or retail terms.
A separate 91mobiles report published on May 27 said tipster Digital Chat Station had described an engineering prototype. The report attributed an 8,500mAh battery, Qualcomm’s expected Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset and a flat 2K display with a high refresh rate to the leak. It also said a periscope camera and upgraded thermal management had been rumoured.
91mobiles repeatedly presented those details as tips about a device in testing. The report did not treat them as a final specification sheet, and it noted that the exact display refresh rate had not been disclosed. The article also connected the reported chipset name to an expected next-generation Qualcomm platform, rather than to a confirmed iQOO announcement.
iQOO’s official global products page currently lists the iQOO 15, iQOO 13, iQOO 12 and iQOO 11 among its products. It does not provide an official iQOO 16 launch notice on the page checked for this report. Until the company publishes a launch date and specifications, the September timing, battery capacity, chipset and price should all be treated as unconfirmed reports.
