Motorola is bringing the premium Razr 70 series to India in July 2026. The lineup includes the standard Razr 70 and the premium Razr 70 Ultra, continuing Motorola’s revival of the iconic flip phone brand.
The Razr brand disappeared from phones for years before Motorola relaunched it as a foldable. The new generation builds on that momentum, targeting users who want premium build quality with the foldable form factor.
Razr 70 Ultra Specs
The Razr 70 Ultra features a 6.9-inch AMOLED main screen with 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, and 3000 nits peak brightness. The cover screen measures 3.6-inch with HDR10+ and 90Hz refresh rate, making it the largest cover screen in a flip phone.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chipset powers both models. This processor offers strong performance for its tier, handling everyday tasks and apps without throttling. MediaTek’s partnership with Motorola gives the Razr line competitive pricing versus Snapdragon-based foldables.
Design and Premium Positioning
Motorola’s Razr line aims for premium aesthetics without flagship pricing. The build materials, hinge mechanism, and finishing all signal quality. The brand builds on nostalgia of the original iconic Razr flip phone while offering modern technology.
The larger cover screen on the Razr 70 Ultra allows more utility without opening the phone. Users can respond to messages, check notifications, and control music without unfolding, improving battery life and durability.
India Market Strategy
Motorola has strong presence in India through its Moto G series. The Razr 70 targets a different segment: premium buyers willing to pay more for a distinctive form factor. Samsung‘s Galaxy Z series dominates the Indian foldable market, so Motorola faces an uphill competition.
However, the Razr 70’s focus on the cover screen and compact size differentiates it from Fold-style phones. Flip phones appeal to consumers who value pocket-ability and distinctiveness.
