Nubia has begun the international rollout of its Z80 Ultra smartphone, bringing the flagship device to several European markets after its initial debut in China. The global release largely mirrors the hardware package introduced earlier this year, with the company maintaining its focus on battery capacity, display design, and mobile photography features.

The handset is being offered in black, white, and a blue “Starry Night” variant inspired by the artwork of Vincent van Gogh. While the design remains familiar to those who followed the Chinese launch, the international version arrives as Nubia seeks to strengthen its position in the premium smartphone segment.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Buyers can configure the phone with up to 16 GB of RAM and as much as 1 TB of internal storage, placing it among the more aggressively specified flagship smartphones currently available through the company’s lineup.
Battery performance remains one of the Z80 Ultra’s defining characteristics. The global model carries a 7,200 mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 80W fast charging through both wired and wireless methods. That represents a modest reduction from the 90W wired charging support offered on the version released in China, though the overall battery capacity remains unchanged.
On the front, Nubia continues its approach of minimizing visual interruptions. The smartphone features a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness rated at 2,000 nits. A 16-megapixel front-facing camera is positioned beneath the display, allowing the screen to remain free of notches or punch-hole cutouts.
The display is paired with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated beneath the panel, reinforcing the company’s emphasis on a clean and uninterrupted front design.
Photography is another area receiving significant attention. The rear camera system combines a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The telephoto camera also includes optical stabilization and supports up to 2.7x optical zoom.
Alongside the smartphone, ZTE is introducing a photography-focused accessory package known as the Retro Kit 2.0. The optional add-on includes an aluminum alloy body with a leather-textured finish, a grip strap, and dedicated shutter controls designed to provide a more camera-like shooting experience. The accessory is priced at approximately $160, or around €149.

The international launch brings much of the same hardware philosophy that defined the Z80 Ultra’s introduction in China. With its large battery, uninterrupted display, and camera-oriented accessories, the device arrives in global markets with few changes to the formula that Nubia originally presented.
