Poco has confirmed key specifications for the Poco X8 and Poco X8 Power ahead of their India launch on September 4.

The two smartphones will join the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max in the Indian market. Both models will be sold through Flipkart after launch.

The Poco X8 Power will run on Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. Poco says the phone scored more than 1,000,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform.

Both phones will come with 8GB of RAM. They will also share the same 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display.

The 12-bit panel supports refresh rates of up to 120Hz. Peak brightness is rated at up to 3,500 nits.

Poco has also confirmed HDR10+ support and 68 billion colours. The display carries TÜV Rheinland Eye Protection certification and supports Wet Touch Display 2.0.

An in-display fingerprint scanner will handle biometric security on both phones.

Battery capacity is one of the main differences between the two models. The Poco X8 will carry a 9,000mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging.

The Poco X8 Power moves that figure to 10,000mAh. It will support 100W wired fast charging.

Both devices will also support 22.5W wired reverse charging. That allows the phones to provide power to compatible devices through a wired connection.

Audio and display features include Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support across both models.

The Poco X8 and X8 Power will ship with HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. Poco has promised four years of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates.

Poco has also disclosed stronger environmental protection for the standard X8. The phone will carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings.

The Poco X8 will be available in Black, Fiery Orange and Frost White.

Poco has scheduled the India launch for September 4 at 12pm IST. Pricing and some remaining specifications have not yet been provided in the information released ahead of the event.

With large batteries appearing in both models, Poco is placing endurance near the centre of the X8 series. The September 4 launch should fill in the remaining details, including how the two phones will be positioned within the wider lineup.
