Leaked clips from Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, have resurfaced online following the film’s presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. The footage circulating on social media offers glimpses of Kapoor as Lord Ram, Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
Sony Pictures had already halted the official trailer release on July 24 to build a synchronized worldwide marketing rollout. Days later, the unreleased promo material found its way online anyway, putting the studio’s carefully planned strategy at odds with what fans are already watching.
What the Leaked Footage Shows
The clips reportedly come directly from the Comic-Con presentation, meaning they were shown to a live audience before any controlled online release. That’s usually how these leaks happen—someone in the room records what was never meant to leave it.
Early reactions to the footage have focused heavily on Yash’s portrayal of Ravana, with many viewers suggesting his performance overshadows Kapoor’s Lord Ram in the brief clips available. Whether that holds once the full trailer drops remains to be seen.
Fans Push Back on the Delay
The repeated leaks have frustrated audiences who argue Sony should simply release the trailer officially rather than let pirated clips define early impressions of the film. Every leak forces the studio’s marketing team to react instead of control the narrative on their own timeline.
This tension isn’t new for big-budget Indian cinema. Studios plan meticulous rollouts. Audiences want content the moment it exists. Comic-Con showcases, built for immediate fan excitement, make that gap almost impossible to close.
The Film Itself
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana releases in two parts—the first arriving Diwali 2026, with the second instalment expected around Diwali 2027. The scale of the production and its ensemble cast have made it one of the most anticipated Indian films of the decade.
Sony can control the release date. It can’t control what happens inside a room full of people holding phones.
