ServiceNow has invested $40 million in BusinessNext, an Indian banking software maker, valuing the company at $700 million. The investment marks a major bet on autonomous AI systems for financial services as banks race to automate operations and cut costs.

BusinessNext, founded in 2002 and formerly known as CRMNext, already serves more than 70 banks across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the U.S., including the State Bank of India and HDFC Bank. The company employs over 1,300 people and had raised more than $60 million before this round.
AI Autonomy Takes Center Stage In Banking
The funding will strengthen BusinessNext’s drive to deploy autonomous operations across banking workflows. The firm specializes in using AI to handle routine processes—from loan applications to regulatory reporting—cutting manual work and speeding up decisions.
ServiceNow sees the investment as a foothold in a market where traditional software can no longer keep pace. Banks face pressure to modernize faster than their legacy systems allow. An AI-powered partner with deep banking domain expertise fills that gap.
Joint Selling Push Targets Global Expansion
BusinessNext and ServiceNow will jointly sell combined solutions globally, marking a shift from BusinessNext’s India-centric base. The partnership opens ServiceNow’s worldwide sales channels to BusinessNext, accelerating growth outside Asia.
Most of BusinessNext’s future growth is expected to come from markets outside India. The partnership gives the company access to Fortune 500 banks that would otherwise be unreachable from a Delhi headquarters.
The deal signals ServiceNow’s belief that AI-powered banking automation will define the next decade of financial services technology.
FYI (keeping you in the loop)
Why does ServiceNow need BusinessNext?
ServiceNow excels at enterprise workflows but lacks deep domain expertise in banking. BusinessNext understands banking rules, compliance, and processes intimately. Together they build a platform that speaks both IT and finance—something neither could do alone.
