Marvel and Sony have kept an unusually tight lid on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next chapter in Tom Holland’s run as Peter Parker. With the film scheduled to reach theaters on July 31, anticipation has been building for the first official footage. Now, a brief social media post from one of Sony’s international distribution partners appears to have revealed when fans might finally see the trailer.

The information surfaced through Ascar Cinema, Sony Pictures’ official distributor in Kazakhstan. The company briefly shared an Instagram announcement stating that the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day would debut on Wednesday, March 18 at 4:05 PM in Almaty. Converted to U.S. time, that would place the release at 7:05 AM Eastern.

The post did not remain online for long.

Soon after it appeared, the message was removed from Ascar Cinema’s account. That sudden deletion has drawn attention among fans who follow Marvel’s release cycle closely. In many cases, distributors receive marketing material ahead of global campaigns, and early posts sometimes appear before a studio is ready to make the announcement public.

Sony and Marvel Studios have not confirmed the date. Even so, the timing aligns with earlier industry chatter suggesting that the first teaser would arrive sometime in March.

If the information proves accurate, the scheduling would also fit a familiar marketing strategy. Sony is preparing for the theatrical debut of Project Hail Mary, a science fiction film led by Ryan Gosling that opens on March 20. Releasing the Spider-Man trailer two days earlier would allow theaters to attach the teaser to early screenings, giving the footage immediate exposure on large cinema screens.

Studios frequently use this approach to amplify the impact of a major franchise reveal. Marvel has relied on similar tactics in the past when introducing footage for large event films.

The upcoming installment continues the storyline left behind in Spider-Man: No Way Home. According to the film’s synopsis, Peter Parker now exists in a world where no one remembers him after Doctor Strange’s spell erased his identity from public memory.

Despite that isolation, Spider-Man is said to be operating at the peak of his abilities. The story begins with him handling street level crime before a string of unusual incidents pulls him into a larger mystery.

Several familiar adversaries are expected to appear. Marvin Jones III’s Tombstone is positioned as one of the central antagonists, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan, better known to comic readers as Scorpion.

The film may also reconnect with broader Marvel characters. Promotional artwork circulating ahead of the trailer hinted at Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner appearing in a more aggressive Hulk form, suggesting a shift away from the calmer Professor Hulk seen in recent films.

Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are both confirmed to return as MJ and Ned Leeds, though how their characters cross paths with a Peter Parker erased from memory remains unclear. The film also includes Sadie Sink in an undisclosed role and Tramell Tillman as the head of the Department of Damage Control.

For now, the trailer’s exact timing remains unofficial. But the brief distributor post has offered the clearest indication yet that the marketing campaign for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is about to begin.

With the film’s July release approaching, the first footage could soon provide the public with its earliest look at where Peter Parker’s story moves next.
