Tata Power’s electric-vehicle charging hubs across four Indian states have recorded 70,000 charging sessions, according to a September 10 report from Autocar Professional. The report said the network’s 25 fast chargers together represent 2.7 megawatts of installed capacity.
The figure refers to charging activity at the hubs covered by the report. It should not be read as Tata Power’s total national session count. Tata Power operates a broader EZ Charge network serving private drivers, commercial fleets and other electric-vehicle users.
The company’s FY2025-26 business materials describe a network that includes public, semi-public and fleet charging points across hundreds of cities and towns. They also describe work on the EZ Charge app, including an auto-charge feature that can begin a session after a compatible vehicle is connected.
The combination of session volume and fast-charger capacity points to a practical infrastructure issue: chargers need both geographic coverage and regular use. A large installed network can remain inconvenient if drivers cannot find a working location on a travel route, while heavily used hubs can face waiting during busy periods.
Autocar Professional’s report did not identify every state or provide a monthly breakdown for the 70,000 sessions. Tata Power’s official materials also describe a wider network, so the two records support the company’s charging activity without proving that every charger performed at the same rate.
Fast charging is increasingly important for electric taxis, delivery fleets and drivers travelling beyond city centres. The reported 2.7MW figure describes combined charger capacity, not the amount of electricity delivered in each session. Actual charging time still depends on the vehicle, battery state and charger output.
Tata Power’s network expansion therefore has two measurable parts: more locations and better digital access to those locations. The latest report supplies a usage snapshot, while the company’s own materials explain the app and network structure. Further updates will be needed to show how the hubs perform over a full operating year.
