The yamaha r2m is the top variant of Yamaha’s new YZF-R2 range in India, and its premium price is tied to equipment added above the standard motorcycle and the quick-shifter version. ETAuto reported that the R2M costs ₹2,53,000 ex-showroom in Delhi, compared with ₹2,30,500 for the base model and ₹2,39,500 for the quick-shifter variant.

Yamaha launched the R2 in India on August 27 as its entry into the 200cc motorcycle segment. Business Standard reported that the company planned to begin deliveries in mid-September through its Blue Square dealerships. The launch established the R2 as a model positioned above the R15, while the R2M became the range-topping equipment level rather than a separate engine family.

The whole range uses a newly developed 204cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. ETAuto reported 26.5 PS of power and 19.1 Nm of peak torque, while the motorcycle weighs 149kg. The common equipment list includes a 5-inch full-colour TFT display, traction control, an assist-and-slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS and Yamaha Ride Control with Street, Sport and Rain modes.

The R2M’s main mechanical difference is adjustable suspension. Autocar India reported that the top version adds preload adjustment for the front fork and rear linkage monoshock. That allows the rider to alter the spring setting for different loads. The publication also listed adjustable brake and clutch levers, giving the M version controls that are not part of the lower variants.

Several visual and convenience changes also separate the top model. Autocar India reported a faux-suede-finished seat, a premium three-dimensional embossed emblem, a silver-finished swingarm and a shot-blasted muffler end cap. The R2M is offered in Metallic Grey, according to the same variant breakdown.

ETA Auto also reported that the Smart Key System is available on the R2M. The middle version’s headline addition is instead a third-generation bidirectional quick shifter, while the base bike keeps the standard equipment shared across the range. These distinctions explain why the R2M costs ₹13,500 more than the middle variant and ₹22,500 more than the base price quoted by ETAuto.

Yamaha’s official e-shop shows a ₹10,000 booking amount for the R2 and says that the booking amount is adjusted against the overall vehicle price at the final quotation. The same page notes that delivery depends on stock availability and directs customers to an authorised Yamaha dealership. The online listing should therefore be read as a booking route, not as a guarantee of an immediate handover.
