Apple has released the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 release candidates to registered developers and public beta testers. MacRumors reported the September 9 release, while Apple’s developer release page lists the build as iOS 27.0 RC 24A435.
A release candidate is the final test build planned before a public release, provided that testing does not uncover a blocking problem. Apple’s developer page also lists release candidates for macOS 27, tvOS 27, visionOS 27, watchOS 27 and Xcode 27 on the same date.
The iOS 27 update brings Apple’s new Siri AI experience and additional Apple Intelligence tools. MacRumors reported changes across Photos, Safari, Shortcuts, Wallet and Passwords, along with a standalone Siri app and a Visual Intelligence feature inside the Camera app.
Apple also says the new operating system is ready for app submissions. Its developer news page tells developers to build with the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 SDKs, while the latest Xcode release candidate is available for testing and App Store delivery work.
The developer page identifies a broader platform transition. Apps for iOS and iPadOS must use the iOS 27 SDK or later, while apps for tvOS, visionOS and watchOS need the matching 27 SDK when developers submit them for review.
Apple’s software notes also describe design changes to Liquid Glass and performance work intended to make apps open and respond faster. The release candidate is still a test build, so developers should check their own apps for layout, permission, networking and accessibility changes before submission.
Apple has not yet published a final public rollout time in the sources used for this report. The release-candidate build shows that the testing phase is near completion, but the public release remains dependent on Apple’s final quality checks. Developers can install the build through Software Update on supported devices.
The release candidate also gives developers a final opportunity to compare their apps with the public build before wider availability.
