Apple’s next-generation Pro iPhones are beginning to emerge in early reports months before their expected debut, with indications that the company may continue its recent approach of limiting price increases while introducing a range of hardware improvements aimed at premium smartphone buyers.

According to market analyst Jeff Pu, Apple is expected to maintain what he described as an aggressive pricing strategy for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. That approach could see prices remain close to current levels or rise only modestly, even as component costs continue to put pressure on manufacturers across the consumer electronics industry.
The discussion comes as suppliers face higher expenses linked to memory and storage components, particularly DRAM and NAND flash. Several technology brands have already adjusted pricing in recent months in response to those cost increases, making Apple’s pricing decisions a closely watched aspect of the upcoming launch cycle.
Current pricing for Apple’s flagship models in India offers a reference point for where the next generation could be positioned if major changes are avoided. The iPhone 17 Pro launched in September 2025 at Rs. 1,34,900 for the 256GB variant. The 512GB model was priced at Rs. 1,54,900, while the 1TB version reached Rs. 1,74,900. The iPhone 17 Pro Max started at Rs. 1,49,900 for 256GB of storage and extended to Rs. 2,29,900 for the 2TB configuration.
Attention is also turning to design updates. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that Apple is testing a new deep red colour option for the iPhone 18 Pro series. The finish is expected to remain exclusive to Pro-branded devices. Reports suggest the company may continue offering the Cosmic Orange option introduced previously, with the new red variant potentially joining the lineup rather than replacing existing colours.
Display sizes are not expected to change. Early reports indicate the iPhone 18 Pro will retain a 6.3-inch OLED display, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could continue with the 6.9-inch panel introduced on the previous generation.
Both devices are expected to support 120Hz refresh rates. Reports also point to peak brightness levels of up to 3,000 nits and a slightly smaller Dynamic Island cutout as part of the next round of design refinements.
Camera upgrades appear to be among the most significant areas of focus. Reports indicate that all iPhone 18 models may feature a 24-megapixel front-facing camera. For the Pro models, Jeff Pu expects Apple to adopt a triple 48-megapixel rear camera system consisting of a primary sensor with variable aperture support, a periscope telephoto lens and an ultrawide camera.
Beyond the flagship range, Apple’s broader iPhone roadmap could also see adjustments. Reports suggest the standard iPhone 18 may arrive later than the company’s traditional release schedule, potentially shifting to a spring 2027 launch window. Apple is also said to be evaluating a lower-cost device that could carry the iPhone 18e branding, although details about that model remain limited.

For now, the emerging picture of the iPhone 18 Pro lineup points to a familiar strategy. Apple appears focused on refining its premium devices through incremental hardware improvements while managing pricing expectations in a market where component costs remain a persistent challenge.
