The deal values the company at roughly 1 trillion won ($676 million), marking a major private-equity push into physical AI hardware.
Futronic was founded in 1993 and has quietly become essential infrastructure in the robotics supply chain. The company makes precision actuators—the electromechanical components that convert electrical signals into precise movement. These parts are critical for humanoid robots, factory automation, and advanced automotive systems.
The Physical AI Thesis
Blackstone’s thesis is straightforward: as AI models become more capable, demand for hardware that can translate digital decisions into real-world action is exploding. Humanoid robots need precise motion control. Autonomous factories need actuators. Self-driving systems need motors and sensors. Futronic sits at the intersection of all these trends.

Futronic’s founder Jin-ho Ko will remain as chairman and CEO, working with Blackstone to accelerate global expansion. The company already serves major automotive OEM platforms and their supply networks.
