Blast, the Tamil action thriller starring Arjun, Preity Mukundhan and Abhirami, has recorded a strong surge in box office collections over its opening weekend, giving the film a notable boost after four days in theatres.

Released worldwide on May 28, 2026, the film is directed by Subash K Raj and produced by AGS Entertainment. According to estimates reported by box office tracker Sacnilk, Blast earned ₹6 crore net in India on Sunday, its fourth day in cinemas. The figure marks the film’s highest single-day collection so far and represents a significant increase from its performance on Saturday.
With Day 4 earnings added, the film’s total India net collection stands at an estimated ₹13.95 crore. Its domestic gross collection has reached approximately ₹16.03 crore. The film was screened across 2,706 shows on Sunday, reflecting expanded theatrical presence as audience turnout improved through the weekend.
Occupancy trends also pointed to growing interest. The film opened with an occupancy of 21.5 per cent on its first day and climbed steadily to 46.3 per cent by Sunday. Over the same period, the number of shows increased from 1,728 to 2,706.
The Tamil version remained the primary contributor to the film’s collections. On Sunday alone, it generated an estimated ₹5.15 crore net while recording 57 per cent occupancy across 1,879 shows. The Telugu version added around ₹85 lakh net from 827 shows and registered an occupancy of 22 per cent.
Among domestic markets, Tamil Nadu emerged as the strongest territory with collections of approximately ₹3.75 crore on Sunday. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed around ₹1 crore, while Kerala added ₹1.45 crore. Karnataka accounted for an estimated ₹63 lakh.
The film also maintained momentum in overseas markets. International collections on Sunday were estimated at ₹1.50 crore, taking the overseas total to roughly ₹5.55 crore after four days.
As a result, Blast has accumulated an estimated worldwide gross collection of ₹21.58 crore during its opening four-day run.
The film’s growth across the weekend has been consistent. It opened with ₹1.25 crore net on Day 1 before collecting ₹2.15 crore on Friday and ₹4.55 crore on Saturday. Sunday delivered the strongest performance of the run so far, helping push overall totals significantly higher.
Blast centres on a middle-class family with martial arts skills whose lives are disrupted following an encounter with a dangerous criminal gang. As threats mount, the family is forced to confront escalating challenges in a fight for survival.
Alongside Arjun, Preity Mukundhan and Abhirami, the cast includes John Kokken, Vivek Prasanna, Arjun Chidambaram and Pawan Krishnaa in key roles.
