Google launched Gemini Personal Intelligence in India, allowing users to link Gmail, Photos, YouTube, and Search for context-aware AI responses. The feature arrives for AI Pro and AI Ultra users initially, with plans to expand to free users in coming weeks. This is Google’s push to embed AI deeper into how Indians use Google services.

More significantly, Gemini Live now supports Indian languages including Marathi, Bhojpuri, and Maithili. Real-time voice and vision capabilities in native tongues dramatically widen the addressable market. Someone speaking Marathi at home can now use Gemini naturally in their language.
Business Features for Indian Entrepreneurs
Google launched the Business Agent for Leads in beta in India. Advertisers can embed an AI-powered brand agent inside Search ads. Potential customers interact with businesses directly, ask questions, and submit leads without leaving Google. For small Indian businesses competing with established players, this is a distribution advantage.
The AI Price Predictor is another highlight. Using historical data and market trends, Gemini advises users whether to “Buy Now” or “Wait.” Ahead of summer sales and festival seasons, this feature could reshape shopping behavior. It positions Google as a shopping advisor, not just a search engine.
Enterprise and Healthcare
Google is bringing Sovereign AI to India—Gemini models running entirely on Google Distributed Cloud from Indian data centers. For government and regulated industries, this is critical. Data doesn’t leave the country. Security and compliance concerns evaporate.
In healthcare, researchers at AIIMS Delhi will use Google’s MedGemma multimodal models to develop India-specific AI models for leprosy and sexual and reproductive health. These models will be made available to Indian developers. That’s Google betting on India’s healthcare ecosystem.
Google’s India strategy reveals something important: The company is not just selling AI features. It’s building AI infrastructure for an entire country, in that country’s languages, for that country’s problems.
