Google released its June 2026 Pixel Feature Drop on June 16, delivering the stable build of Android 17 alongside 38 Pixel-specific bug fixes and new features to supported devices from the Pixel 6 onwards.
The June drop is the largest Pixel software update of the year so far. The 38 fixes span every major system area: apps, audio, battery and charging, camera, display and graphics, face unlock, framework, location and GPS, telephony, touch response and user interface. The breadth reflects months of beta feedback identifying issues affecting daily use across the Pixel lineup.
New features with the drop include App Bubbles for all applications. Long-pressing any homescreen app icon gives an option to convert it into a floating bubble, a persistent moveable icon that can be dragged around the screen or dismissed by dragging downward. The feature extends the bubble interface, previously limited to messaging apps, across every installed application.
Screen Reactions is also new. It lets users record their screen and face simultaneously for reaction videos without third-party apps. For Pixel Fold users, a gaming control mode places a virtual touchpad on the lower half of the folded screen while a game runs on the upper half, turning the foldable into a dedicated gaming layout without accessories.
The update rolls out to Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, the full Pixel 8 and 9 series and the complete Pixel 10 lineup. Wear OS 7 ships to Pixel Watch devices on the same schedule. This June Pixel Drop is separate from the Android 17 launch covered earlier this month. The original Android 17 rollout introduced AI wardrobe features and platform-level changes; this drop adds device-specific bug resolutions and post-launch refinements. Full release notes are on the Android documentation. Developers should also note that Gemini 2.5 Flash shipped this week with a 4x inference speed improvement for Android developers.
To install, go to Settings, then System, then System Update. The rollout is staged so not every Pixel receives it on the same day.
