Google made its Pixel 11 lineup official on August 12, ahead of preorders that opened the same day. The phones go on sale August 20, with the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL carrying most of the year’s upgrades.
Prices rose by $100 across the board. The base Pixel 11 now starts at $899, the Pixel 11 Pro at $1,099, and the Pixel 11 Pro XL at $1,299, according to Android Central. Storage doubled to 256GB on every model, so the cost per gigabyte barely moved from last year.
All three phones run on Google’s new Tensor G6 chip, built on a 2 nanometer process with a new MediaTek modem. Google says the modem should ease the connectivity problems that dogged past Tensor chips. RAM jumped to 12GB standard across the line, a change tied to the memory chip shortage affecting phone makers industry wide.
The Pro models get the real camera upgrade this year. Both carry a new 50 megapixel main sensor, paired with the same 48 megapixel wide and telephoto lenses as before. Google added a Magic Capture mode for pulling the best frame out of a scene, along with an expanded Camera Looks tool and Circle to Search built directly into the camera app.
Screen sizes held steady at 6.3 inches on the Pro and 6.8 inches on the Pro XL, both OLED panels with higher peak brightness than last year’s models. New color options include an orange finish called Canyon and a matte black called Obsidian.
Software is where Google is leaning hardest. Gemini Intelligence now includes an agentic mode that can complete multi step tasks on its own, though that feature is limited to the United States at launch. Buyers elsewhere get other new Gemini tools, just not the task handling piece.
Alongside the phones, Google also introduced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold and the Pixel Watch 5 at the same event. Preorders are open now, with all the new hardware shipping August 20.
