Google Powers Search Entirely with Gemini 3.5 Flash

By Ebrahim HossenJuly 11, 20262 Mins Read

Google announced that its Search bar will be powered entirely by Gemini 3.5 Flash, generating custom AI-summarized pages in response to queries rather than traditional lists of links. The shift fundamentally changes how search works.

Google also launched the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, an evolution of Vertex AI, designed for knowledge workers. Partners include Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle, Adobe, and Workday. The company released two new TPU chips — TPU 8i and TPU 8t — to bring responsive agentic AI to broader adoption.

The Search Shift Is Real

A search that returns a Gemini summary instead of a list of links is a different product. It trades breadth for speed. Users who want to read multiple sources still can, but the default changes. Google is betting users prefer a single authoritative answer.

This affects publishers, SEOs, and content strategists. Traffic patterns will shift. Some sites benefit from being summarized. Others lose visibility.

Enterprise Agents Matter

The Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform positions Google against specialized AI platforms. If Gemini can handle enterprise workflows — customer service, document processing, knowledge retrieval — Google owns more of the stack.

The partnership ecosystem signals confidence. Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle bringing integrations means real adoption potential.

Hardware Acceleration

TPU 8i and TPU 8t are purpose-built for agentic AI. They’re not general compute. The specificity suggests Google is committed to this direction, not experimenting.

Google’s Gemini is now the engine behind search, with enterprise deployments and new hardware designed for autonomous AI agents.
