Rockstar Games will premiere an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI on Netflix on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, six hours before the same footage goes live on YouTube and the official GTA VI website at 9 p.m. ET.

The arrangement gives Netflix subscribers first access to what is shaping up as Rockstar’s biggest single gameplay presentation for the game. Netflix and Rockstar have worked together before, including bringing the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy to mobile, and this deal extends that relationship into GTA VI’s marketing push.

Reports ahead of the reveal suggest the presentation could run for around 20 minutes. Coverage from outlets tracking the showcase expects Rockstar to explain core gameplay systems, show how players switch between protagonists Jason and Lucia, and walk through some of the activities scattered across the game’s world.

Take-Two Interactive chief executive Strauss Zelnick has already tried to manage expectations. He has described the August 27 presentation as just an appetizer, telling investors that more reveals are planned before the game reaches store shelves.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, after Rockstar pushed the release back from an earlier 2025 target. The wait has fueled some of the heaviest anticipation in gaming history, and Sunday’s Netflix stream is the first extended look fans will get since the last full trailer.

Anticipation for this level of detail is not new. Rockstar’s first GTA VI trailer, released in December 2023, pulled in more than 90 million views in its first 24 hours and set a Guinness World Record for the most-viewed video game reveal on YouTube.

Rockstar has not said whether the August 27 footage will include a firm price or preorder details. For now, the studio is sticking to gameplay, leaving pricing and platform-specific extras for a later announcement closer to the November launch.
