Humanoid Raises $152M Series A: Europe’s First Humanoid Robotics Unicorn

By Bhuiyan Md TomalJuly 27, 20262 Mins Read

Humanoid, a European robotics startup, raised $152 million in Series A funding at a $1.35 billion post-money valuation in July 2026. The funding round makes Humanoid Europe’s first pure-play humanoid robotics unicorn and the largest Series A for a humanoid-first company in the region. Investors include Accel, Lightspeed, and others betting on the decade of physical AI.

Humanoid Robots, Finally Scaling

Humanoid robot companies have burned capital for years with limited commercial deployment. The difference now is capital constraint meets genuine demand. Supply chains have matured. Semiconductor costs have fallen. Software—where the real complexity lives—is improving faster than hardware iterations can keep up with.

Humanoid is building general-purpose robots designed to work alongside humans in warehouses, factories, and logistics. Unlike specialists built for one task, general-purpose systems require solving perception, planning, and manipulation at a level that was science fiction five years ago.

Europe’s Robotics Moment

Europe has been second to Asia in robotics manufacturing but first in funding narrative. Germany’s automotive legacy and skilled engineering workforce provide foundation. Swiss precision manufacturing expertise adds edge. The €411 million that Proxima Fusion raised for nuclear fusion and this Humanoid Series A reflect a shift: Europe is willing to fund long-bet hardware startups at scale.

US dominance in software AI didn’t translate to robotics manufacturing dominance. That opens space for European players to build hardware-software stacks without fighting US-China supply chain wars.

What Gets Built With $152M

Series A at this scale funds three years of runway, manufacturing ramp-up, and market discovery. Humanoid will use it to ship units to pilot customers, refine design based on real-world feedback, and expand engineering. This is the phase where you discover which robots actually work in practice versus lab demos.

The bet is that in two to three years, demand for general-purpose manipulation robots will exist at scale. If it does, Humanoid raises Series B at 5x this valuation. If it doesn’t, capital dries up and the company becomes a cautionary tale.

Humanoids are coming. The question isn’t if—the question is which company, and which region, builds them first at cost parity with human labor. Humanoid’s Series A says Europe thinks it’s them.
